This one dates back to
2000. It may be that this
one has no reason to exist. It has strange, pretty changes but is slow,
ponderous, and sort of loses momentum after the first chorus. I still like it
because I think it is lyrically clever; self-indulgent, to be sure, a fantasy
about the riot grrrl of my dreams. I sort of picture Mila Jovanovich in the
role. (Hey look, it’s just a song – I can pretend any girl I want!) There is no place
for this song to go in terms of working its way into anybody’s catalogue
other than my own. It tends to leave some people shaking their heads, while
the odd person here or there gets on board. This is a terrible
recording, originally done on a tape-stretching Tascam 4-track tape recorder.
I will re-record it at some point, but for now: Thanks for
listening.
